Kinderplace extends beyond the boundaries of campus. Each session includes real world, hands-on fun and learning to complement the exciting activities happening in the Kinderplace classroom. Campers get the chance to partake in such stimulating educational adventures as hayrides at the 4-H farm, climbing aboard a clipper ship at Kid City, or flying to Mars at The Children’s Museum. Kinderplace participants also take excursions to the Hartford Public Library for story hour. Transportation for all off-campus trips is provided by the University of Hartford shuttle bus.
In addition, a variety of on-campus field trips are scheduled each session. Whether it’s going to Auerbach Theater for the final performance by Summer Place campers in the acting class, a visit from The Children’s Museum with some furry friends, or watching campers climb trees to zip-line through the branches, each unique adventure adds to the camp experience!
