Bob Davis, artistic
director, is returning for his fifth season.
He has over 22 years of experience as an actor, director, vocal coach, and trainer of professional actors. An award-winning teacher, Davis is a professor in the Music Theatre and Actor Training programs at the Hartt School and has worked with the Hartford Stage Company (appearing in
Our Town and A Christmas Carol this past year), Yale Repertory Theatre, and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.
Benjamin Rauch, music director, is no stranger to
Summer Place Players. He served as Music Director in 2003, 2004,
and 2007, and is hoping to return again in 2008.
A native of Long Island, New York, Benjamin pursued his
undergraduate degree at The Hartt School, where he
received a B.M. in Vocal performance, Choral
Conducting, and Composition. He returns to Connecticut after
performing and touring worldwide with Chanticleer,
America’s premier a cappella vocal ensemble. Before joining
Chanticleer, Benjamin served as the Cantorial Soloist
and Choir Director at Temple Sinai of Long Island. He is
pursuing his Masters Degree in Choral Conducting at
The Hartt School, where he studies with Dr. Edward
Bolkovac. Benjamin also maintains an active private voice
studio and serves on the faculty of the Hartt Community
Division and the Greater Hartford Academy of the
Arts. Benjamin can be heard as the soprano/tenor section leader and soloist for
the Center Church Choir.
Terry Corbin, choreographer, is returning for her sixteenth
season. She runs her own dance school in Avon and has taught
tap, ballet, and jazz to dancers of all ages for 25 years. She has choreographed several productions at Kingswood - Oxford High
School in West Hartford, as well as school productions in Avon and Simsbury. She choreographed
Fiddler on the Roof and
Annie Get Your Gun for the Simsbury Theater Guild, and also performed in several of
its productions.

Debbie Markowitz, stage manager,
is returning for
her
second season. She is the Production Stage Manager of
the Theatre Division
at the Hartt School, which produces over
14 shows
a year. She has worked as General Manager of the
Summer Theatre at Mt. Holyoke, Company Manager of
Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and Program Director
of
the Huntington Arts Council. Her stage manage-
ment credits include
Theatreworks, Hartford Stage
Company, Barrington Stage Company,
Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival, and
Southern Appalachian Repertory
Theatre. She
earned a Master’s degree in stage management
from Purdue University. |
