Cheerleading and Dance
are taught by a dance instructor and have a final performance at the end of each two-week session.
Fitness Training
includes a variety of high- and
low-impact aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities, such as stretching, jogging, power walking, and scavenger hunts. We do not use weight-lifting equipment.
Karate
is taught by a professional black-belt instructor, and participants receive a belt at the completion of the two-week session. There is an additional fee of $23 per karate course for this professional instruction.
Lacrosse
Skills provides girls and boys who are both new and experienced lacrosse players with an environment to learn the fundamentals of the game, and basic techniques while improving their skill level through drills, lead-up activities and modified games.
Net
Games is three activities in one: volleyball, wallyball, and badminton are played on a rotating basis. Wallyball is a
form of volleyball played on a racquetball court. Players enjoy the challenge of playing the ball off the walls.
New
Games focuses on cooperation and problem-solving games that foster teamwork and communication skills.
Recreational
Swim participants are tested for basic skills on the first day of the session and may be placed in lessons at the discretion of the swim director.
Sport
Pals is an all-afternoon option that includes daily swim lessons, a variety of recreational activities, games, read-aloud time, and a snack. This group of campers remains with the same counselors in a nurturing environment.

are taught by the Summer Place swim instructors and follow the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim
curriculum. |
Tennis
Grades 5–9 campers have three options:
Tennis
I
is for campers who are new to the sport or have limited experience.
Tennis II is for campers who have some experience with the sport. Classes will review basics and work on more
advanced skills, like serves and game playing.
Tennis
Games is for players who can rally back and forth. Each
session
will consist of a warm-up and a variety of games that focus on topics such
as consistency, doubles positioning, singles strategies, attacking the net,
and general shot selection.

Grades 1–4 campers also have three options:
Racquet
Readiness
is designed to work on the skills necessary for
playing tennis. Campers will practice racquet skills that teach them
control of the ball on their racquets and basic strokes. Campers will also
practice movement and tennis-specific footwork through relay races and
games, as well as tracking a moving object. This course is designed for
campers who are relatively new to sports that require hand-eye
coordination.

Yard
Games
involves activities you might play in your backyard—like horseshoes, bocce, hacky sack, water-balloon toss, and slip ’n’ slide, as well as tag,
wiffleball, kickball, Parachute, and Capture the Flag.
Yoga is taught by a certified instructor who specializes in working with young children.
